John Edwards yesterday spoke out against the appallingly fraudulent and cynical "inevitability" meme perpetuated by HRC and her minions, incisively stating as follows:
"Did I miss something? Did we already have the Iowa caucuses? Did we already have the New Hampshire primary?" Edwards joked to about 60 people gathered in a machine shed at a farm outside Harlan.
The former North Carolina senator noted a recent New York Times story, in which unnamed Clinton backers explained the political reasons behind her Senate vote to label an Iranian military unit as a terrorist group. They said Clinton was switching from "primary mode," to "general-election mode," in which she would have to court more conservative voters.
Edwards was incredulous. "Have we decided who the nominee’s going to be? Have you decided?" he said. "Instead of having primary mode or general-election mode, how about we have telling-the-truth mode? How about if we actually say what we believe?"

Initially, the purpose of the "inevitability" message was to bully dem office-holder and donors into supporting Hillary whether they wanted to or not, with the subtext being that if they were to do otherwise they would lose their jobs and/or influence. Then they sought to maneuver the "inevitability" idea into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
To the relief of many, Obama's huge fundraising exposed the lie of HRC inevitibility and revealed the vast army of democrats courageous enough to resist HRC / DLC domination of the party.
Even today, Obama's fundraising continues to frustrate HRC's campaign which is dumbfounded by the audacity of some democrats to actually back another candidate. This from, The Independent:
The latest fundraising numbers are a big disappointment for Hillary Clinton, who had hoped to put clear water between herself and her closest rival, Barack Obama, whom she is trouncing in the polls. But when the figures for the third-quarter funds were posted on the Federal Election Commission's website yesterday, they revealed that the two were not very far apart.

Ultimately, Hillary's arrogance and hubris will be her undoing. As explained in Wikipedia:
In its modern usage, hubris denotes overconfident pride and arrogance; it is often associated with a lack of knowledge, interest in, and exploration of history, combined with a lack of humility. An accusation of hubris often implies that suffering or punishment will follow, similar to the occasional pairing of hubris and Nemesis in the Greek world. The proverb "pride goes before a fall" is thought to sum up the modern definition of hubris.[5]
Thus far we've experienced "the Pride". Beginning January, 2008, "the Fall". Check local listings.
